Freeform Arrangements Part 1
In the phase that succeeded the paintings from the series “Abstract Light” Dara abandoned the narrow monochrome confines that gave order to the circulation of geometric elements. On the subsquent works Dara arranged the multitude of forms in a more casual, freestyle and eclectic way. By leaving blank spaces on the pictures and creating light, almost translucent surfaces she broke up the density of the works from the “Abstract Light” series. On these paintings she also displaced many elements from the center field of the picture which enhances the playfulness of the way the colourful circles and rectangles spread out over the paintings.
