Golden Lines Part 1
Towards the end of 2009 Dara started to develop a series of works that look like illustrations made for a book of fairytales. The hallmark of this series are golden lines that emerge out of poetic mosaic arrangements. The abundance of forms occupying the lower half of the picture could be considered to stand for earthly riches and the monochrome surfaces above may be seen on the one hand as the sky, but also as that which is unknown, uncovered or undefined. The golden lines may thus be seen as a departure into an infinite wasteland or an exploration of uncovered ground which adds a mystical and mysterious aura to the elegant and sensual paintings.
